TEDx Coordinator

I was the TEDx Coordinator for the TEDx event that was held in my university, called TEDxSIUVimanNagar. I was in charge of Speaker Curation and Creatives and also aided my colleagues with sponsorship, marketing, and overall functioning of the event.

As Speaker Curation Coordinator, I contacted over 50 potential speakers based on their ideas for change and noting who would be the best fit for our theme ‘What Dreams Are Made Of’. I held telephone and video interviews with each speaker and finally shortlisted the 7 diverse speakers for our TEDx event. I then coached them and helped them craft their final talks and presentation per the TEDx guidelines.

As Creatives coordinator, I was in charge of the stage design, experience zone, and design of the event space. I also coordinated with the social media team for graphics and a cohesive look for all content and messaging of the brand. Being a writer, I was also heavily involved in all aspects of content marketing for the event and brand as a whole. 

 

I led and coordinated a diverse team of 20 student volunteers. With their assistance, I was able to manage and organize the event on the day and was also engaged in post-event work.

Being the coordinator for a TEDx event was really rewarding and enriching. Besides gaining the experience of organizing and managing such a large scale event I also had the opportunity to personally connect with many inspiring individuals. I will fondly remember my interactions and takeaways from their TEDx talks for life.
